The China International Chorus Festival is the only state-level international chorus festival in China. It is organized by the Bureau for External Relations, the Ministry of Culture, P.R.C. and China Arts & Entertainment Group. Since 1992, CICF has been held every two years with great success and ever-growing influence in the field of chorus. In 2010, with Mr. Cai Wu, Minister of Culture as its honorary chairman, and Dr. Michael J Anderson, Interim President of International Federation for Choral Music(IFCM), as its honorary adviser, CICF invited over a hundred choirs from China, Netherland, Poland, New Zealand, Malaysia, Israel, Singapore, etc. to gather in Beijing and celebrate the art festival of chorus.

To celebrate its 20^th anniversary in 2012, the CICF organizing committee will cooperate with IFCM and China Chorus Association to hold the IFM World Choral Summit, which will bring together choral leaders all over the world to discuss the most important issues of choral world and communicate with each other.

The 11th China International Chorus Festival will have rich and diversified content. There will be a high-class Opening and closing Ceremony, a chorus competition, versatile performances, IFCM World Choral Summit, workshops (master’s class) and other cultural exchange activities. During the festival, five world class choirs, each from a different continent, as well as over a hundred choirs throughout the world will join with their Chinese counterparts to participate in various activities.
